ABOUT US
Àdìre is an ancient art form practiced by the Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria. It is a resist-dyeing textile technique. The Yoruba word Àdìre translates to “tie and dye.” However, the resist methods to create intricate patterns extend beyond tying and dyeing alone.
Our designs incorporate traditional fabric techniques, celebrating Africa’s indigenous technology and storytelling heritage. Each piece reflects this rich tradition, combining artistry with a modern touch. Our Àdìre fabrics are unique, long-lasting, and contemporary, offering elegance and durability. Most importantly, they are crafted using the finest cotton in the industry.
Our selling point lies in premium designs, dyes, and fabrics. Every piece of clothing and fabric is meticulously handmade, showcasing the timeless beauty of Àdìre.
Shíttà is a renowned hub for Àdìre making, nestled in the bustling business centers of Surulere. From Akerele and Olawale Dawodu to Bank Olemoh, the area thrives with cooperatives and dyeing centers. This vibrant district is a melting pot of creativity, home to artists, designers, tailors, stencil cutters, and Àdìre producers.
Amidst this dynamic community, one name stands out! Àdìre Shitta.
